Basketball is a game of special situations from beginning to end, and the team that's better prepared for each one is often the victor. Keith Dambrot brings a smorgasbord of wisdom and experience to the table to help you not only prepare for those special situations, but learn how to install options to counter adjustments. Dambrot digs into his bag of tricks and lays out trade secrets from some of the most innovative coaches in today's game.
You'll get 5v5, on-court demonstrations covering situations like inbound plays, transition defense, facing 1-3-1 zones, and getting off 3-point shots against the zone or late in the game. Dambrot continues to pack this video with more insight on late game looks that prep teams all the way to 2 seconds left on the clock with the length of the court ahead of them. Many of the plays build into multiple options, but never get too complicated that they can't be applied easily.
BLOB & Knife
Coach Dambrot offers two baseline out of bounds plays that are great for getting your best scorer the ball in good offensive position. If the defense takes the shot away, you'll see a knife technique that tries to get a wing in motion to a gap in the zone. This technique fits perfectly into this BLOB, but can be applied as fundamental basketball to any zone set.
Match-Up 1-3-1 Offense
Facing a 1-3-1 can be a special situation in itself, especially with undersized guards. Dambrot, knowing the fundamentals of a 1-3-1, engineered ways to eliminate going over the top by securing multiple entries and seals to overcome the defense. He spends time walking the team through the options to create space for quality shots.
Pressing off of Missed Baskets
Matching up full court off of missed baskets is a situation that your team can take advantage of and Dambrot explains how he designs rebounding to flow right into a press defense.
Dambrot offers five additional looks for handling late game situations to get off 3-point shots and advance the ball the length of the court (in under seven seconds) against hard pressure. The best part is these five looks come with 15+ adjustments to free up the right player to get the job done.
Being prepared for end of game and special situations can mean a few more wins during the course of a season. This is one of those videos you'll come back to again and again to pick schemes and adjustments for each leg of the season.
